Visual description

A soft sculpture made of three distinct but connected shapes of embroidered fabric, each of which is outlined with a thick border of black yarn, sit on top of one another to create a tall shape that tapers towards the bottom. The shape on top is wide and rectangular, with a relatively straight border on top, compared to a more wandering bottom border that lifts up in the middle. The top shape is connected to the taller and larger, but narrower middle shape below at two points, leaving an oval-shaped negative space between that is shaped almost like lips. The middle shape is the largest, with a top left corner that points sharply up into the shape above it, and a more rounded top right corner. Following down from the top right corner, the border of this shape curves inward and down before turning left to form the bottom side of the shape. Following down from the top left corner of the shape, the border bows slightly and smoothly outward and back, and then juts briefly and pointily outward 2/3 down the left side before joining the bottom side of the shape. The bottom and smallest shape is connected entirely to the middle shape above by its top border. The bottom shape is almost a square, except for a soft rounded protrusion in the bottom left corner, and looks almost like a wide sock or stocking. In order to discuss color, let's return to the top shape. Each of the shapes is made of white fabric with a thick black border that has been embroidered with points of colored yarn. Going from left to right, the top shape is embroidered with a cluster of dark blue yarn points, a cluster of warm light yellow and white yarn points, a cluster of black yarn points, and then a cluster of pure red yarn points that blends into a mixture of red and green yarn points, and, finally, into a small cluster of black yarn points with a few specks of dark blue on the right side of the shape. The middle shape is speckled with primarily black yarn points mixed with spots of light grey, dark grey, light blue, and turquoise. The bottom shape is speckled with bright red points of yarn.
